Sami DiPasquale is the founder and executive director of Abara, a nonprofit based in El Paso, Texas dedicated to fostering connection, learning and action on the US-Mexico border. Sami was born in Jordan, grew up in the Middle East, and has spent the last 25 years immersed in refugee resettlement, community development, and peace-building efforts. He holds a bachelor's degree in sustainable development (interdisciplinary) from Wheaton College, and an MBA from the University of Texas in El Paso. Sami’s enduring vision is to join others in bridging divides and moving toward mutual flourishing for all. He lives with his wife and children in El Paso, Texas.
