John is a Managing Member of Karamaan Group, an investing firm that takes passive and active interests in both public and private companies. Prior to this, John was a Partner at MSD Capital. He received his PhD from MIT in 1998 and his AB from Harvard in 1995. John and his family reside at Coram Deo: A House of Worship, Prayer, and Entrepreneurship located in midtown Manhattan. He is part of a monastic community called the Order of the Common Life, and he serves on the board of Vineyard USA and Come Near, the organization behind the "He Gets Us" ad campaign.
