Damilola Okonkwo is the Founder of KEY academy, Africa’s first project-based school in Lagos, Nigeria. A former finance professional with Credit Suisse and JP Morgan, Damilola holds a BSc from the University of Manchester. She leads a learner-centered movement to democratize 21st-century education and disrupt the status quo in African schooling. KEY academy was a Top 10 Finalist in the 2025 World’s Best School Prize for Innovation—the first school in West Africa to earn this honor. Damilola is also the West Africa Community Lead for HundrED and a respected voice for education reform.
