Guidelines for Hosting Labs

BEING A REDEMPTIVE LAB HOST CAN BE A DEEPLY FORMATIONAL & REWARDING EXPERIENCE; IT’S ALSO A BIG COMMITMENT. IF YOU’RE THINKING ABOUT APPLYING TO HOST, PLEASE REVIEW THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES FIRST.

HOST A PRAXIS-LIKE EXPERIENCE

Praxis experiences are designed to be deeply formational gatherings with humble and ambitious builders who aspire to practice redemptive entrepreneurship. Over the last 10+ years, we have pursued world-class program and experience design that allows guests to feel challenged, encouraged, and cared for during their time at our events. You’ll be expected to embody the spirit of Praxis in your Redemptive Lab by facilitating community building and challenging conversation that encourages a redemptive imagination.

CULTIVATE LOCAL MENTORSHIP

As a Host, you’re responsible for bringing in mentors from your community who are committed Christians and experienced venture builders. We encourage you to seek out individuals who are current or previous founders that are exemplars in their field of work, have demonstrated humble leadership, offer a unique perspective, and are aligned with the Praxis Redemptive Playbooks.

CREATE A DELIGHTFUL EXPERIENCE FOR ENTREPRENEURS

Praxis believes in the power of delightful experiences that have the potential to shape and form people for years to come. These experiences are driven by well-designed gatherings that pay attention to details – everything from where you stay, to how entrepreneurs are invited, to the facilitation of conversations throughout the Lab. It is important to keep the entrepreneurs top of mind as you design and host the Lab from start to finish.

FACILITATE MEANINGFUL CONVERSATIONS

You’ll be provided pre-recorded videos from Praxis walking your group through the Redemptive Framework, as well as content decks to aid you as a facilitator in framing up discussions about Redemptive Strategy, Operations, and Leadership. You’ll be responsible for moderating discussions on each ‘axis’ of the Redemptive Frame, positioning mentors to speak to the topic from their experience and point of view. This role is critical and takes work to prepare well! You are both the organizer and producer of your gathering, so make sure to set aside the necessary time to prepare for thought-provoking conversations.

CELEBRATE AND DEMONSTRATE THE PRAXIS VISION

By licensing you as a Redemptive Lab host, we’re entrusting you to embody the Praxis vision and mission around redemptive entrepreneurship. Our hope is that as you learn more about redemptive entrepreneurship, that you first are formed deeply by it, and that it re-orients not only who you are, but what you build in the world, and how you go about the process of building. Out of your own experience, we hope that you will demonstrate the ideas of redemptive entrepreneurship through every aspect of the Redemptive Labs process in everything from using your designated Lab logo, understanding and humbly communicating the ideas of redemptive entrepreneurship, sharing about Redemptive Labs (including the difference between Praxis and Redemptive Labs), and engaging in an ongoing way.

DELIVER YOUR LAB WITH EXCELLENCE AND JOY

Hosting a Redemptive Lab is a relatively significant endeavor, so make sure you have the time and resources to host an excellent event. We also want you to have fun gathering and hosting amazing entrepreneurs in your city! Approach the Lab hosting role with an understanding of the responsibility but embrace the experience with joy for the community you are helping to build and form.
