About the Role

Praxis began in 2011 with a desire to support and equip Christian entrepreneurs and has grown into a venture-building ecosystem with a redemptive imagination, supporting founders, funders, and innovators motivated by their faith to address the major issues of our time. Our work as an organization is to build a community of practice around the ideas of redemptive entrepreneurship, work that is powered by an incredible team of builders and operators. At the heart of Praxis’ ecosystem are our efforts to facilitate redemptive outcomes across our community of funders, mentors, entrepreneurs — many of whom are founders in our portfolio, mentors in our Accelerators, and participants in our annual Summit gathering. As the Praxis community has grown over the past 13 years, we continue to need excellent operators and builders to connect and support our community in their pursuit of redemptive work.

The Venture Programs Associate is critical to our work in supporting high-capacity entrepreneurs, as this person is in the flow of conversations around what founders need, how systems and program creation serves them, and helps to deliver formation experiences for Praxis founders. While operational in nature, this seat in the organization provides direct proximity to some of the most innovative and influential Christian founders in the world, and introduces early-career builders and potential founders to the work of launching and scaling a redemptive venture.

This operations-focused role will report to our Venture Programs Lead, work directly with our Portfolio Partners and involve interaction with mentors, and our community of entrepreneurs. The Accelerator program is non-residential and the Praxis portfolio spans the globe. This role requires distributing and managing program deliverables with fellows and executing on program and portfolio offerings in partnership with the Portfolio Partners and Venture Programs Lead throughout the year.

Candidates should have a deep interest in learning and executing the details of program delivery, enjoyment in an events-filled calendar, a keen attention to detail, and a spirit of warmth and hospitality. In short, we’re looking for someone who can implement and also improve upon plans for our existing and future programs and events with excellence, joy, and passion for our mission to advance redemptive entrepreneurship.

The Venture Programs Associate will serve both the Praxis Accelerator Program and our Portfolio Services offerings. The Venture Programs Associate should enter with an interest in involvement in our ever-evolving set of work to serve, support and form founders.

Prior Experiences

We are seeking a highly detail-oriented individual with a background in startup and/or operations environments, who excels in self-organization and thrives in ambiguous situations. The ideal candidate has strong self-learning abilities and is eager to work hard, embracing the challenges of building the future. We're looking for people who are not only committed to advancing the organization's mission but are also willing to tackle all tasks necessary for success, thereby contributing to both their personal growth and the organization's development.

Praxis Culture

Mission carriers: We seek team members who are internally motivated not only to advance redemptive entrepreneurship as an organizational mission, but to embody redemptive action as a personal and vocational priority.

Entrepreneurial spirit:
We’re a team of builders and entrepreneurs, and a founder’s mindset is core to our ethos. Every person in every role is constantly thinking about how to build and improve, rather than to maintain the status quo. We see ourselves as innovators and approach our work with drive and an eye for possibility.

Humble and ambitious:
Despite our many accomplishments, our team is committed to a posture of humility as we pursue holy ambition within our organization and our individual lives. We set big goals and pursue them not for our own glory but to see Praxis’s mission come to life in the world.

High excellence, high grace:
We aim for the highest standards of value and impact in our programs, experiences, and operations. We take ownership over excellence not just within our vertical but across the organization. Our commitment to excellence is intentionally tied to a culture of grace, allowing us to own our mistakes and learn quickly for the next time.

Innovative and adaptable:
We operate like a startup; our work is regularly in prototype mode and undergoes several iterations. Our team approaches change with a mindset of adaptability, bringing new solutions to opportunities and challenges that inevitably arise within a growing organization. We love to brainstorm and build with one another, and see each other as partners in our work, not obstacles in our way.

Tech-forward operators:
We design and operate as a nonprofit pushing the edges of new technology and systems that allow our small team to operate efficiently at scale. We’re always looking for new ways to automate ourselves out of work and rely heavily on internal systems to propel our work across the community.
